About Time...Myla's Nursery

I know this post is wayyyyy past due but goodness life is fast pace right now ha!
So...Myla is 3 months old now! I can't believe she is this big already! She has the best personality I have ever seen in a baby! She smiles so big!! Here is a pic I took of that smile recently....

I had this crazy idea with Myla's nursery that I didn't want to share it with anyone because I was scared people would copy her room...however, I'm realizing that is completely nuts and I want to show off all of our hard work! I adore Myla's nursery so here goes...
Myla's tree was painted by our very talented neighbor Amanda! I told her exactly what I wanted it to look like and she did an amazing job! Damion painted her walls the most perfect pink I have ever seen....there are so many BAD shades of pink, this one was just right!:) Then he hung the chandelier we ordered online. I loved how chic it was...the bedding I found at an antique shop and it was love at first sight! Glenna Jean is what I had my heart set on, but when I saw this bedding I was over-joyed! The birds Amanda painted above Myla's bed remind me of the birds in Cinderella...love it! The curtain was made by Myla's Cookie(Damion's Mom)....I can actually take credit for the tulle i added to the bed skirt! The table beside the glider was brown and I crackle-painted it white.

To the left of the bed is Myla's closet...there is actually an awesome shabby chic bow hanger on the wall in between but I took these pictures before the shower she received it on that day. Then there is her dresser(my old dresser i crackle painted for college) and above that hangs my coming home dress(which she also came home in) on a hanger with my Grandmother's broach.

My mom found an awesome shabby chic comforter and Damion's mom recovered the glider...the glider that rocked both of my neices and then Merit. I love the trim we added to the foot-stool. Cookie and I made the lamp shade...and my hubby painted the changing table a friend found for us for $20! Her initials are kinda hard to see on this picture but you get the idea. There are a few little things not in these pictures(like the changing pad that is now there ha) but this is pretty much it. I honestly think Myla's nursery is perfect...it's like a fairy-tale in there....it's everything I ever wanted for a little girl's room...my little girl's room. She is here...she is loved..Myla Joan.

Proud Mommy

Well it's been a little while since I have blogged...I'm mostly worn out from the growth spurt Myla has hit! I'm having to feed her really often right now!

We have been able to take little SweetP to church a few times now and i have to say I'm LOVING getting her dressed! The lavender dress she is wearing in this picture is from her "Cookie" and that is my favorite color on her thus far. She has the prettiest smile I have ever seen. She is starting to really focus in on me and when she can hear my voice in the room she is looking for me. I mean what more could a mom ask for?

Merit has been really funny lately. One second he is acting up and in time out...the next he is running around being "happy spiderrrmannn"! A few quotes from Merit to remember forever:
"Are you gonna eat off a lit?" ha Are you gonna eat all of it is what he means!
"I love you, you love me, we're a happy famillyy. With a GREAT big hug and a thank you for you. Won't you say you love I love you too." THIS MAKES ME LAUGH SO HARD!
"Mommy can I flush the mamodian" hahaha
Me "Merit we are not going there right now." or "Merit you're not watching tv right now!" Merit "UH HUH I DO I DO I DOOOO!" ha
"A, B, C, D, D, F, G" haha in this old lady choir like voice!
Me "Merit eat your cereal before it gets soggy" Merit "Let me look outside...it's not mommy it's not soggy." Ha you mean foggy Merit.
Merit you really can't say your cousin Norah's name. You say Nornah
Merit says, "I billy want to." Instead of I really want to!
I'm sure there are more hilarious things I will think of later...I never want to forget how cute the things he says are....so I'll keep putting them on here to remember.

Merit is doing so much now...I am going to write down a few things he has accomplished at just over 3 years old.
You can count to 10 in spanish...pretty much count to 30 in English. You can tell me what every letter of the Alphabet is by just looking at the letter. You can write on your own the letters, A, C, M, E, R, I, T, H, and O. He can spell his name out loud and he has written his name a few times too! I love seeing you learn Merit...you are a smart smart little boy.

Yesterday he saw me on the playground and ran over to the fence that separated us....for some strange reason it made me sad. He started yelling that's my mommy...and hey mommy I love you. Then I kept trying to play with our kids in our class and he just sat there saying I love you mommy. I wanted him to go play with his friends, but he was not interested. He makes me feel so loved. Then he kissed me through the fence. Later in the day I had to go get something we left on the playground and he was back out there...he of course saw me and came straight to the fence again. I made it quick and said i love you too Merit, I'll be there soon to get you. I went inside and could see him out the little window...he couldn't see me. But I saw him say "I love you Mommy." So I opened the door one more time and said I love you Merit. I have no idea why this all made me feel sad but he got a treat when we got home and lots of attention and love. I love you Merit Elton...you make me one proud Mommy.
